Father Owain Mitchell has been the Vicar of the United Benefice of Brigg, Wrawby and Cadney since December 2005 and the Benefices of Bonby and of Worlaby since December 2010.
Before coming to this area, Fr. Owain served as Assistant Curate in a group of five parishes in the York Diocese, having trained for the Priesthood at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. He has a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Studies (Social Sciences and Criminology) from the University of Lincoln, a BA (Hons) in Theology and Pastoral Studies from the University of Leeds and an MA in Theological Reflection and Ministry from the University of Lincoln. He grew up in Patrington, East Yorkshire, and attended Withernsea High School.
Father Owain’s interests include riding his Yamaha R6 motorbike around the fantastic roads of Lincolnshire, gaming on his PlayStation, and following most forms of motorcycle and motorcar racing on the television. He also enjoys reading (John Grisham & Lee Childs novels), cooking and binging on boxsets during his holidays
Owain married Claire here at Saint John’s in 2009, and he has two grown up daughters.
He is usually available in the church every Thursday morning following the 9.00am Eucharist and welcomes anyone for chat.
