Thy Kingdom Come 2018

Join the global wave of prayer

10th – 20th May 2018

During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who participates will deepen their friendship with Jesus, bring others to know Jesus or know Him better, and come to know that every aspect of their life is the stuff of prayer.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

In our group of parishes, the week begins with a Deanery Service for Ascension Day on Thursday 10th May at St Radegund’s Church, Grayingham beginning at 7pm. This will be a service of Holy Communion followed by light refreshments, everyone is most warmly welcome.

Bonby, Worlaby, Cadney and Wrawby churches will be open every day during TKC (10-20 May 2018) for you to pop in for space and quiet for private prayer.

Saint John’s will be open on Saturday 19th May 10am-2pm, for anyone to come along for prayer.

The quiet half hours…

  • Friday 11th May – Bonby
  • Tuesday 15th May – Wrawby
  • Wednesday 16th May – Worlaby
  • Thursday 17th May – Brigg

Sunday May 20th at Brigg Methodist Church there will be a special united service to mark both Pentecost and the conclusion of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come” days of prayer across the nation.

There are various resources in each church for you to take home and use over the eleven days including:

  • A Prayer Walk model
  • Prayer Walking the Lord’s Prayer
  • A Novena
  • Morning and Evening Prayer
  • A daily Prayer Journal

Praying for 5 friends and for your neighbours

List the name of 5 people you wish to see come to faith. Pray for these each day, and for the neighbours on the road you live on.

Lord, I hold before you (insert names) and all my neighbours on (your road) and I pray to you, asking that they may come to faith, to know, love and serve you.

You build your Church through the power of your Spirit. By the same Spirit, enable me to witness to these, showing your love, beauty and grace. That they may come to the fellowship of the faithful for your glory. Amen
